We are proud to have been provided with support from Active Thames, British Canoeing & Active Essex to be bringing kayaking to the community of Southend. Kayaking for us is the perfect compliment to a range of activities we currently offer in, on or near the water in Southend. With all equipment provided for you and led by one of our British Canoeing Paddle Sport Leaders, you will be taken through all the basics and safety skills required to get you started.
Our aim is to encourage more women into the sport of kayaking and potentially to kickstart their journey to become coaches with this taster session being the first step. While not exclusively for women anyone who is interested is welcome to come along and try it out. We will also be reaching out to mental health organisations in and around the community to offer an alternative way to return to exercise while improving their mindset and overall health.
Your paddle journey doesn't have to end following an intro as we have concisive a pathway for you to follow. Read our blog that explains the various options and steps you can take to develop your paddle skills. From the intro to our Start Award, Paddle Safer course, Discover Award and onto the FSRT (Foundation Safety & Rescue Training) to the Discover Award.
Perhaps you have aspirations to venture into the world of teaching and share your knowledge and experience with others. Talk to one of our team about how and what is needed to start another journey into the world of Instructing, Leading & Coaching, we can help point you in the right direction and set you on a path of self discovery.
Sessions will run once a week from March through to September and details including how to book can be found on our booking's page.
