The 2022 Essex Activity Awards evening held at Chelmsford Race Course was to be a spectacular event and one that co-owners Sarah & Del were proud to be a part of.
Accompanied by guests and fellow team members Craig & Fay on the night we were in great company and shared the room with so many amazing people.
Hosting the event was Paralympic Gold Medalist Danny Crates and TV Presenter Dr. Zoe Williams and was streamed live throughout the evening.
Around 500 people had been nominated across the 11 different categories with just 35 lucky people attending the awards ceremony at such a stunning venue.
Sharing the room with in our opinion incredible people from all across the county was a truly humbling experience. Listening to all the brilliant work others do left us in awe.
We really were truly privileged to even share the room with these outstanding people and honoured to have been voted for and supported by the community to be there.
Spending time with the likes of Anni Ridsdill Smith from Frangipani Sup who was there and up for the Sports Personality of the Year award was fantastic. Anni has achioso much in her field and an inspiration to so many.
To be inspired by so many stories and so many people throughout the evening was memorable. None more inspirational than the story narrated to us by Wali Noori, a man that left such an impression on all who heard his accomplishments to date.
Within our category we received tge highly commended award, missing out and rightly so to Gerry McGovern from Chelmsford Park Run for his outstanding efforts over the past 10 years, a well deserved award.
Following the ceremony we had the opportunity to network with some of the other attendees and look forward to working along side some great communities in the very near future.
We would like to extend our appreciation and thanks to all who voted for us and to all those that received awards on the night. Thanks to everyone behind the scenes for making it feel like we were at the Oscar's, and to the amazing venue staff.
Special thanks go out to Active Essex for putting this on and for all they do. We hope with fingers crossed we will get to return next year and experience this all over again.
